The value of Australia's annual agricultural production is tipped to exceed $70b for the first time - but will the rapid growth last?

In what ABARES has described as a "remarkable combination of events", record yields, prices and good seasons have combined for the record ag production forecast of $73 billion for 2021-22.

The forecast result would be the first time the value of Australia's agricultural production has broken through the $70b barrier.

It's an unprecedented upward revision in a single quarter, with an additional $8b added to the gross value after the release of forecasts in June.

Crop production and livestock production were leading the way in terms of value, and are tipped to be worth $39.5b and $33.5b, respectively.

But with ABARES warning the good conditions may not persist, we're asking - do you think things are on-track for ag to reach the National Farmers' Federation's goal of $100b by 2030?
