IT'S hard to believe we're just six months away from the 2022 state election.
What's even harder to believe is how much has changed since the Liberals came to power in 2018.
Putting the impacts of the pandemic to one side, the Marshall government's first term has still been a roller coaster ride - with much of the turmoil affecting our country electorates.
The travel allowance scandal cost Tim Whetstone and Stephan Knoll their positions on the front bench, with the latter not contesting the next election. Making a similar decision - albeit after serving a longer term - is Flinders MP Peter Treloar.

This means we'll be seeing some fresh faces in state parliament next year, with Mr Knoll's seat of Schubert likely to be an electorate to watch come polling day.
March 19 has the potential to become 'Independents Day'. Member for Narungga Fraser Ellis is serving as an Independent, having quit the Liberal Party after also being caught up in the expenses scandal, while Independent Member for Frome Geoff Brock will contest Stuart against Liberal incumbent Dan van Holst Pellekaan.
Add to this speculation Member for MacKillop Nick McBride is considering leaving the Liberals to become an Independent, and it's clear we have an interesting six months ahead.
