LOOKING back in the Stock Journal archives nearly 40 years ago, SA was in severe drought, with crop production estimates dropped and people having to kill off flocks as they couldn't afford to keep them.
In September of 1982, it was also all things 'show', with coverage of the Gawler, Adelaide and Melbourne shows, while another world-record was broken during the Adelaide Merino Ram Sale.
Stock Journal also attended Gepps Cross, Snowtown and Eudunda livestock markets.
