NEW season lambs were firm to $5 cheaper, while store lambs sold firm, at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange in Vic on Thursday.

There was a much larger yarding than the previous fortnight's sale, with 16,172 lambs and 4080 mutton of offer, totalling 20,252.

New season export lambs sold from $240 to $280, reaching $9.60 a kilogram, while new season trade types made $180-$230 ($9.20-$9.80/kg), and new season stores sold from $100-$180.

DR&CM O'Shannessy, Walpeup, Vic, sold 52 new season lambs at $285, while Erhardt Partners, Galah, Vic, sold 89 at $274.

Greyoaks Farming, Patchewollock, Vic, sold 161 new season lambs at $273, while Latta Farms, Walpeup, sold 91 at $270.

Griffiths Machinery, Alawoona, sold 121 new season lambs at $259, while RK Jones, Loxton, sold 99 at $254.

Old crossbred lambs were $15-$20 cheaper, with export types making $220-$300 ($7.80-$8.50/kg), while old trade lambs made $180-$220 ($8.50-$9.20/kg).

Shannon Neyland, Karrawinna, Vic, sold 61 old crossbred lambs at $302, while L&R Stone, Torrita, Vic, sold 25 at $277.

Old Merino lambs were $15-$20 cheaper, with AJ&LM Mangan, Bambill Station, selling 69 at $239.

Heavy Merino lambs sold from $190-$279 ($7.70-$8.20/kg), while light Merinos made $115-$160 ($7-$9/kg).

Richwood Farms, Carwarp, Vic, sold 145 Merino lambs at $271, while D&J Goldsmith, Yarrara, Vic, sold 281 at $253.

Mutton was firm to $20 cheaper. Heavy mutton sold from $190-$230 ($6-$6.20/kg), while light mutton made $115-$170 ($6-$6.80/kg).

Fe Pole, Torrita, sold 121 mutton at $230; while MJ Lonergan, Ouyen, sold 116 mutton at $228.

G Munro, Ouyen, sold 52 mutton at $228, while C&S Jenzen, Pinnaroo, sold 56 at $208.

Dorper lambs were also offered, with B&D Rural, Wilcannia, NSW, selling 108 at $256 and L&R&L Harmer, Meringur, Vic, sold 24 at $250.

The next scheduled sale will be on September 16.
