BUYERS competed on a much smaller yarding of sheep and cattle at Mount Pleasant on Thursday last week.
Nutrien Ag Solutions Fawcett Livestock's David Schultz said prices were high again in the sheep and lambs.
"We had sucker lambs sell really well again, which would have been over $10 a kilogram dressedweight," he said.
"Numbers were back but the smaller butchers still pushed (prices for) the grainfed cattle or any of the younger cattle with good quality on them."
Lamb prices topped at $260 for a pen of 13 from Semmler Bros, Lyndoch.
Other vendors making strong prices for lambs included RP Rollond, Yatala Vale, with seven at $242, Amerylla, Milang, with five at $238, and Hillydale Farms, Palmer, with 11 at $236.
RD&CJ Lindner, Palmer, received $222 for 45 lambs, while M&T Saegenschnitter, Nuriootpa, were not far behind with six at $220.

The hogget offering was topped by Hillydale Farms, which sold two at $175, along with a further five at $146.
DN,MA&CN Schultz, Sedan, had a hogget at $170, while Glenunga Props, Moculta, sold six at $162. JT&JL Wenske, Nildottie, sold one at $160 and Semmler Bros made the same price for two.
Wethers sold to $164 for two from Graetz Family Trust, Keyneton, which also made $152 for six wethers.
Humbug Scrub vendor E&JL Koch topped the ewe section, with 13 at $180, followed by T Cobbledick, Highland Valley, with four at $174, and Hillydale Farms with three at $170.
In the cattle, heifers sold to $2300 for two Charolais-crosses from AG&BA Loffler, Mannum. D,M&C Schultz, Cambrai, made $1920 for two Angus and one Murray Grey heifer, while T Hueppauff, Angaston, made $1780 for two Murray Grey heifers, and had another two make $1760.
Steers topped at $2100 for a Murray Grey from BM Pitman, Birdwood. GD Wicks & Son, Kenton Valley, sold two Murray Greys at $2040, one at $2000 and two at $1980.
T Hueppauff made $1980 for one Murray Grey, and sold another at $1960.
PE&MJ Robinson, Willaston, made $2000 for three Angus cows, pregnancy-tested in-calf to a Speckle Park bull, while LP&C Deans made the same money for two Angus cows.
Bulls sold to $2500 for a Murray Grey from NW&JR Carr, Woodside.
