THE inaugural Northern SA Merino Expo was held at the Jamestown Showgrounds on Thursday and sheep studs revelled in the event's success.
The timely event was held just as news reached the sheep breeding industry that for a second consecutive year, the Royal Adelaide Show would not go ahead in the interest of public health and safety.
Committee member Tom Ashby said it was a blessing that the even went ahead as planned, as it provided studs with an opportunity to showcase their potential sires after the cancellation of other field days.
"The event was a great success and it gave the industry something to look forward to during what has become a pretty uncertain time."
Stock Journal's VANESSA BINKS went along.
