COMPETITIVE bidding underpinned Roemahkita Poll Merino stud's 31st annual on-property sale at Cummins, with the stud achieving a $10,000 top price, twice.
The sale held on Tuesday last week cleared 96 rams from 108 offered, that resulted in a $2943 sale average.
The top price rams were snapped up by Whim Park, Wilmington, and Bilyana Park, Kyancutta.
The first $10,000 ram under the hammer was 200013, a GP Smithy 180173 son.
The 114.5-kilogram ram was a twin and had 20.1 micron wool with 2.6 standard deviation, 12.8 coefficient of variation with a 99.6 per cent comfort factor.
Another a GP Smithy son, 200008, made the equal $10,000 top price.
It weighed 118.5kg with wool measurements of 20.2M, 2.8 SD, 14 CV 14 and 99.6pc CF.
Stud principal Joe Dahlitz said stud sire, GP Smithy made a big impact on the sale and the results spoke for themselves.
"It was our best sale team offered to date."
The $9000 second-highest price ram was 200032, a 124kg GP Smithy son, that was sold to WP Mickan and Sons, Cummins.
It had 18M wool with 2.6 SD, 14.4 CV and a 99.9pc CF.
The sale was conducted by Elders and Nutrien Ag Solutions, with Elders' stud stock's Tony Wetherall as auctioneer.
