AFTER months of negotiation, terms have been agreed to on the future of a free-trade agreement between Australia and the United Kingdom.
This follows on from new terms needing to be decided in the aftermath of Brexit and the UK leaving the European Union.
Among the new terms, about 99 per cent of Australian goods will be able to enter the UK with no duties.
Tariffs on red meat, wine, sugar and dairy are all expected to drop.
While beef tariffs will remain for the next 10 years, Australia will have access to a quota of duty-free exports, which will rise in instalments for the next decade.
A similar system will be in place for sheepmeat.
As part of the new deal, there will also be changes to working visas for UK citizens in Australia.
