SOUTH East livestock producers had the chance to get out and gain some insight into the future of the sector at a Rabobank dinner at Mount Gambier, late last week.
Rabobank Mount Gambier branch manager Bryan Hunt said the event was their first in 18 months, and was a good chance for people to get back in contact with friends and make new ones.
A feature of the evening was a presentation by Rabobank's senior animal proteins analyst Angus Gidley-Baird, discussing the latest market outlook for the sheep, wool and cattle markets.
Talking on 'Transitioning the new era for Australian Livestock', Mr Gidley-Baird also spoke on how the sector is transitioning out of the pandemic, reduced reliance on China and the move towards sustainability.
