SHEEP and cattle at Thursday's Mount Pleasant market were met with good demand, with lamb prices on par with the previous market, and cattle fetching high bids as well.
In the sheep yarding, made up predominantly of lambs and hoggets, one hogget from BW&KJ Reschke, Mannum reached the top price of $230, with the vendor also making $216 for two lambs, and $216 for three ewes.
RD Thiele, Monarto South, also made $230 for one hogget, and sold 13 lambs knocked down at $222, plus another five at $194.
MC&ML Blenkiron, Mt Pleasant, made the top wether price, for one at $224, and also sold a hogget for $230.
Two hoggets from Wongarah Pastoral, Mount Pleasant, made $230 as well.
Mannum vendor DJ Fromm had four lambs knocked down at $196, and also made $192 for six ewes.
Larger lines of lambs came from Hearnden Farms, Keyneton, which sold 19 at $190, and also from fellow Barossa vendor TJ Rogers, Craneford, selling 22 at $175.

In the cattle ring, PA&FT Frahn, Mannum, made top price honours in the steers and heifer yardings. They sold three Limousin-cross heifers at $1800, three Limousin-cross steers - two at $2020 and one at $1900 - and one Murray Grey steer at $1880.
D&M&C Schultz, Cambrai, weren't far behind, selling one Angus steer at $1820.
MacLachlan Pewsey Vale, Pewsey Vale, offered three Poll Hereford cows, one which made $1800 and the other two being knocked down at $1400.
G&A Gum, Keyneton, sold two Murray Grey cows, one at $1640 and the other at $1460, while RJ&KD Sibley sold one at $1500, also a Murray Grey.
SB&R Vivian, Manuum, sold a Limousin cow with calf at-foot at $2600, while Hamley Bridge vendor DD Smith sold two black baldy cows with calves at-foot at $2580.
