PRICES lifted up to $15 higher across all categories at the Ouyen, Vic, Livestock Exchange.

PRICES lifted up to $15 higher across all categories at the Ouyen, Vic, Livestock Exchange yesterday, with 8233 sheep and lambs yarded.

Crossbred lambs for the export market sold from $215-$262 or $7 a kilogram to $7.50/kg; trade lambs were $159-$228 or $7.90-$8.70/kg and store types sold to $155.

Light Merino lambs sold from $55-$176 or $7.50-$7.70/kg, with heavy lambs $186-$223 or $7.20-$7.60/kg.

The 1363 mutton available sold from $130-$184 or $6.50-$6.80/kg for lighter types and $190-$270 or $6.20-$6.70/kg for the heavier offering.

Topping the market at $262 for 40 crossbred lambs was W Schultz, Mittyack, Vic.

Cureton Pastoral, Vic, sold 28 at $260, while Andersons of Bronzewing, Bronzewing, Vic, sold 143 at $258 as well as 212 at $253.

N&F Hamilton, Timberoo, Vic, had 44 crossbred lambs make $257.

Yarding start to decline as winter approaches

Nowingi Farms, Nowingi, Vic, sold 94 at $255, while I&B Brown, Boinka, Vic, had 25 make the same price. J&R Scott, Timberoo, sold 51 at $254.

In the Merino lamb offering, Wegner Bros, Karoonda, had the top price with 120 at $236, while A&N Hulland, Patchewollock, Vic, had 28 make $235 and K&P Kelly, Werrimull, Vic, sold 87 at $223.

A run of 55 Dorper lambs from R Jones, Broken Hill, NSW, made $206, while 32 from Calindary Station, Broken Hill, sold at $205.

P&J Rundle, Lameroo, had 64 make $200, with the same price paid for 29 from Prill Park, Euston, Vic.

DA Hancock, Lameroo, topped the mutton offering with 21 making $270.

Longtrail Farms, Parilla, sold 65 at $256; A&N Hulland had 69 at $250 and Nowingi Farms sold 43 at $240.
