A rare opportunity is available for those involved in fresh produce to to take a tour of the SA Produce Markets at Pooraka.
The distribution hub of fresh produce in the state, about 250,000 kilograms of fresh fruit and vegetables is transhipped through the SA Produce Markets each year.
Kicking off at 5:30am on Tuesday May 18, chefs, buyers and influencers in the area of fresh produce are invited to attend a hosted tour of the facility, meet some SA growers, and view a showcase of fresh and local produce lines.
Those on the tour will have their eyes opened to quality and a variety of produce they may not previously known about.
Time is set aside for networking and discussion after the tour, with the event wrapping up at 8am.

"This exclusive tour and showcase will provide an insight into a hive of activity rarely seen by those outside of the community of 2,500 people that work at the facility daily," SA Produce Market marketing manager Penny Reidy said.
"This is a rare opportunity for chefs/cooks and those involved in the wholesale buying of fresh produce to visit the markets.
"Growers will be showcasing in season and new lines and the wholesale market will be in full operation."
