Despite the small yarding of cattle at Mount Pleasant last week, what was on offer was met with good demand, while the sheep market was on par with the market a fortnight beforehand.
Nutrien Fawcett Livestock's Colin Fawcett said the quality wasn't "quite there" in some cases, yet good money was still paid for stores.
Topping the steer offering was DC&SP Holt, Eden Valley, who sold four Angus steers at $1880, while G&E Congram, Kersbrook, weren't far behind, making $1780 for an Angus steer.
One steer each from G&P Noblet, Birdwood, made $1760, with the vendor also making $1780 for two Angus-cross cows, and $1660 for an Angus cross heifer.
Pat Pangallo, Kersbrook, made $1760 for a Red Angus steer - a price also made by two Murray Grey steers from Lumley Park, Gumeracha.
Mannum's AG&BA Loffler made the top heifer price of $1880 for one Angus heifer, and sold another two at $1820.
David Poczman, Lyndoch, sold a Red Angus heifer at $1860 and an Angus heifer at $1500.
High Eden East, Eden Valley, had two Murray Grey cows knocked down at $1880.

Similar to the previous Mount Pleasant market, Mr Fawcett said the quality of lambs was a little better than expected.
"The quality was mixed, but there was definitely a reasonable selection for export and butchers," he said.
Four lambs from AJ Cooper Nominees, Forreston, were knocked down at the top lamb price of $218, with the vendor also topping the hogget offering with two making $150.
Semmler Bros, Lyndoch, sold a line of 14 which made $216, while $208 was made for two from M&C Cox, Palmer.
Wethers topped at $170, for two from Tucker Russell, Pallamanna, with the vendor also selling one ewe at the equal top ewe price of $160. Paech Bros, Palmer, also sold one ewe at $160.
The next Mount Pleasant Market will be held on May 13.
