Pastoral regions of the state - particularly the north west region - can expect heavy rain and thunderstorms tomorrow (Friday), as thunderstorm activity developing near the WA border moves east.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Jenny Horwat said between 10-30 milimetres of rain was forecast across the north west pastoral district, and north western parts of the north east pastoral district, with potential for local falls of 30-50mm between Coober Pedy and Woomera.
"Showers and thunderstorms are possible in the west of the state today (Thursday), with the system moving further east tomorrow," Ms Horvat said.
"We could expect severe thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon around the north west pastoral district, which could lead to heavy rain and flash flooding, with some damaging wind gusts and potentially some hail stones.
Ms Horvat said structural damage of buildings wa a possibility, while travel and transport on outback roads may be disrupted. "This could cause structural damage, with the outback roads we could have disruption to travel and transport.
