This week's Stock Journal Flashback Friday hails back 45 years ago to April 1976, when many livestock feature events were on, including the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Autumn Jersey Fair at Wayville, Wudinna Pig Fair, Eyre Peninsula Merino Field Days, Barrier bull sale in Broken Hill, NSW, and Poll Shorthorn, Shorthorn and Poll Hereford show and sales at Naracoorte.
The first Belted Galloways sold by auction in Australia were also offered up at the Uganda Angus and Belted Galloway stud sale at Hindmarsh Tiers, while Pep Hill held an invitational stud pig sale at Murray Bridge and Henton Park Poll Hereford stud dispersed its herd at Birdwood.
The Department of Agriculture & Fisheries held an open day at Northfield, while the Eyre Peninsula Machinery Field Days went from one day to two..
