About 65 people attended the Isolated Children's Parents' Association annual state conference on Friday, held in Port Augusta.
Branch members from across the state were in attendance, as were Members of Parliament, and representatives from boarding schools, local schools, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Telstra, NBN and the SA Arid Landscapes Board.
Twelve motions and one supplementary motion were put to the floor on the day, on topics including healthcare, the push for a Distance Education Teaching Allowance, a nationally-consistent and long-term approach for border restrictions for students boarding interstate, and enabling SOTA students to continue to enrol in SOTA in year 7, even when year 7 formally switches to high school.
