CLOUDS did not keep the crowds away with many studs reporting good visitor numbers and even a few early sales for day two of Stock Journal Beef Week.
Seed stock producers from the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and the Riverland opened their farm gates to show off their operations, with plenty of positivity felt throughout the day, buoyed by the positive saleyard returns.
For the first time, Aruma Limousin at Korunye, near Mallala, joined in on the fun this year and young co-principal Pheobe Eckermann was pleased with the support from local visitors, while after many years of driving around for Beef Week, first-time exhibitors Highridge at Paris Creek decided to give it a go with their South Devons.
There will be 57 studs representing 11 different breeds across the four days.
Studs from Jamestown, Clare, Korunye and Kapunda were on show on Friday, with the Lower South East studs to be open Monday, February 8, while the Upper South East will complete Beef Week on Tuesday, February 9. Studs will be open from 9am until 4pm for inspections.
