THE first SA weaner sale of the season got off to a strong start at Strathalbyn on Friday with plenty of bidding support.
Nutrien Livestock's Bradley Walker said the sale results were pleasing and in line with their expectations ahead of the market.
"The cattle certainly presented very well and you could see the calves had a bit of weight in them," he said.
He said the sale was underpinned by good local demand, particularly from one feedlot buyer.
He said the number of people at the sale, on a 40 degree Celsius day, also showed the interest in the cattle market.
