Allendale East Area School has taken out the double in the Mount Gambier Show steer competition, to become the Champion on Hoof and Hook for 2020.
Last week, the school was announced as the winner of the on-hook competition with Glentanner Gecko accumulating 90.34 points, after being processed at Teys Australia's Naracoorte abattoir.
The steer was bred by ARJ&KJ Lucas of Glentanner Angus, Kongorong.
It won ahead of Newry Nugget exhibited by Kingston Community School on 89.89 points and Quesadilla in third, exhibited by Trinity College, scored 89.76 points.
The results follow the on-hoof competition held last month at the Mount Gambier Showground, where Allendale East Area School exhibited the grand champion steer Six Creeks Gazza - an Angus-Simmental-Limousin, bred by Brad Creek.
Judge and Spence Dix & Co director Jono Spence said the 694-kilogram steer, which had been at the school since March, had a "beautiful balance of red meat yield and finish".
"It had that package of muscle, softness and cover and was really good through the primals," he said.
Kingston Community School had also displayed the best presented steer - Randal Park Nigel.
