A SERIES of emergency resilience workshops, held by the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council, will kick off tomorrow (Wednesday) at Clare.
Building safer communities is the theme of the workshops, which aim to build the resilience of local communities in the face of natural and man-made disasters including fire, flood and drought.
Funded through the Federal Government's Drought Communities Program, the council will offer the workshops in five regional towns.
The workshops are designed to bring communities together through local connections and networks and create whole community approaches to responding and recovering from emergencies.
The first workshops will be held in Clare, Manoora, Auburn, Riverton, and Stockport and will provide participants with an overview of the process and aims of the program, while also seeking their input and gathering their local knowledge.
