MALLALA graingrower Richard Konzag was announced as one of the two GrainGrowers Western Region directors when election results were released at the organisation's annual general meeting.
Mr Konzag and Rhys Turton, York, WA, were elected by GrainGrowers' members as directors for the Western Region and will serve until 2023.
GrainGrowers chairman Brett Hosking congratulated both Mr Konzag and Mr Turton on their appointments and said he was looking forward to working with them as the organisation continued to work on behalf of their grower members across Australia.
"Rhys has been a fantastic director for GrainGrowers and I congratulate him on his reappointment and I am also pleased to welcome Richard to the board," he said..
"I would like to acknowledge all the candidates who stood for election. The calibre of candidates we had apply is a testament to the passion and commitment growers have for their industry."
Mr Konzag's family have farmed at Mallala since 1911, running a family enterprise and working with his son and nephew.
Mr Konzag has extensive board experience, with previous roles including the Advisory Board of Agriculture, the Grains Research and Development Corporation Southern panel and the Australian Grain Growers Co-Op Board.
Mr Turton farms in York, in the wheatbelt region of WA. He has served as a Grower Director for GrainGrowers since 2017, is president of the WA Farmers Federation and chair of the Council of Grain Grower Organisations in WA.
