Australia has officially been declared to be in a recession, with large numbers of unemployment, including in some key industries in regional areas.
Regional Development Australia boards across SA report increases of unemployment between 3 per cent and 6.1pc, with those working in accommodation and food services the worst hit.
But there is also positive news, with recruiters saying job vacancies in other industries in regional areas are expected to rise on those placed in 2019.
"There's no doubt people weren't hiring as often during drought years, or scaled back staff in many areas, but now there is a cautious rebuild and optimism across agriculture," Rimfire managing director Mick Hay said.
Instead these recruiters say regional areas are crying out for a range of professionals - from horticulture and harvest jobs, to merchandise retailers, tradies and even finance.
