MURRAY BRIDGE
Yarding: 8300
Wether lambs to $138
A yarding of 8300 "fresh" woolly wether lambs sold above expectations at Murray Bridge on Monday.
Elders' Justin Robertson said the lineup of lambs presented was "very pleasing", with a good, even offering of "processor suitable" lambs.
"They made probably, in my mind, $8 to $10 dearer than I though it would, with good buying support all round," he said.
Nutrien Livestock Murray Bridge's Kev Keller said he was "pleasantly surprised" by the sale, saying it was up about $10 on his expectations, as buyers bid well.
"The processors were very strong and handled the vast majority of the lambs," he said.
Mr Keller agreed the quality of the majority April/May-drop wethers was high, showing signs of coming through a good season.
"I think they're probably the freshest lambs offered in sales in the past few years," he said.
