An impressive line-up of meaty, well-nourished, white wool rams at Millbrae Poll Merino helped the Kimba stud to an improved average at its 7th annual on-property sale held on Friday August $14.
Overall, 40 sires were offered, of which 37 sold, topping at $2100 and averaging $1175 - a jump on last year's average price of $1064.
The Millbrae rams weighed an average of 105 kilograms, with fleece measurements averaging 21 Micron and a 99 per cent comfort factor, while eye muscle depth averaged 44 millimetres.
Lot 9 made the top price of the sale, weighing 123kg, with measurements including 19.4M, 2.8SD, 14.9CV, 99.7CF, 47.3EMD and greasy fleece weight which was 8.7pc above the flock average.
Repeat clients Oakfront Pastoral, Calca were the volume buyers of the day, taking 11 rams to $1700, averaging $1190.

Their top buy, lot 16, was sired by Collinsville E399, and weighed 116kg with measurements including 20.8M, 14.2 CV, 99.7 CF and an EMD of 45.1mm.
Whyndam Station, Wentworth, NSW, bought six rams to $1100, averaging $916.
Stud principal Clint Rayner was very happy with the sale result, and was pleased to see a regular group of return buyers bid up on quality sires.
