The Royal Adelaide Show may be cancelled for 2020 but Western Flat stud Bundara Downs decided the show must go on.
In its place, the Funke family brought the show ring to their farm with their online exhibition earlier this month.
They enlisted Troy Fischer, Ashmore stud, Wasleys, to judge a cross-section of their 2019-drop rams and provide comments on each age group class.
This was live streamed on Bundara Downs' Facebook page and uploaded to YouTube.
Greg Funke said they saw it as the best opportunity for their clients, many of whom are restricted from travelling with border closures, to view their sheep online.
"Every time I look at people's photos they have one ram and you can't compare anything with one image of a ram - this is the best description we can do online with the figures, raw data which we had a scanner do and weights," he said.
Mr Fischer said studs had to be more creative marketing their sheep during COVID-19 times and congratulated the Funkes on their idea.
"The default thing is you have got a video of a ram and there is no real comparison with the mates in its group, so this is a unique opportunity to line them up objectively," he said.
Mr Fischer was impressed with the 55 White Suffolks, Suffolks and Poll Dorsets.
"The top end of each class would perform well in any show around the place and in some of the classes between second and fourth you could throw a blanket over them," he said.
