Murray Bridge bids reach $155

Nutrien Ag Solutions Murray Bridges' Kevin Keller said it was a "tough sale", but "not unexpected".

"No one knows where the whole pricing is going at present," he said.

With Vic processors reducing their capacity to two-thirds for the next few weeks as part of its COVID-19 restrictions, Mr Keller said they were missing some interstate orders, which had an impact on the market.

"We're basically in uncharted waters," he said.

But he said the quality of the lambs offered was strong.

"These are good, fresh lambs coming through that had a great start to the season," he said.

Elders Murray Bridge's Justin Robertson said there were positives from the market with good support from the buyers there.

"I didn't expect us to be on parity with last year's sale and I'm pretty happy and think some of the vendors are too," he said.

"We had good quality lambs from light through to medium and heavy trade weight."

Restockers bid well at Murray Bridge

The sale reached its peak of $155 for 13 crossbred lambs from DJ&RJ Stone, Yankalilla.

A pen 67 crossbred lambs from DJ Fromm, Walker Flat, were picked up by Thomas Foods International for $154.

RN&LA Bald & Sons, Ettrick, offered 133 crossbred lambs, which made $152, while another 221 made $137.

TR&NJ Kennett, Brinkley, sold a pen of 54 lambs at $150.

DW Kubenk & Sons, Tepko, had 285 crossbred lambs make $146.

Dalmarvin, Ettrick, sold 109 crossbred lambs at $145, bought by Hardwick, with another 118 snapped up by Midfield at $128.

IT&MJ Eckermann, Sandalwood, sold 32 crossbred lambs at $144 to TFI, with another 25 going at the same price to M Noske, Mount Pleasant. A further 173 made $136 to Hardwicke.

RD Thiele, Monarto South, sold 83 crossbreds at $144.

MR&TK Paech, Tepko, sold 60 crossbred lambs at $142.

Inglebrae, Callington, offered 44 crossbred lambs, which made $140, bought by Midfield.

RM&TE Hein, Burdett, sold 87 crossbreds at $140 and a further 25 at $136.

BL&CL Burbridge, Ettrick, offered 227 crossbred lambs, which made $138, while a second run of of 62 made $137 and a further 359 made $130.

Batten Partners, Sherlock, made $135 for a pen of 130 crossbred lambs, while a second run of 188 made $125, both bought by TFI.

The next Murray Bridge market will be held on August 24.
