RED Angus steers have sold to an impressive $2100 at the Mount Pleasant market on Thursday last week, for a single heavy unit.
SJ&TJ Walding, Mypolonga, who received the sale top price, also sold another single Red Angus steer at $1960, in what was considered a "very strongly supported" sale.
Nutrien Ag Solutions' Colin Fawcett said while there was a larger yarding (778 sheep, 234 cattle) than the previous sale (450 sheep, 140 cattle), the pricing wasn't too dissimilar.
"The cattle sale met with very good competition across all categories, particularly lighter-weight cattle," he said.
R Watson, Houghton, sold two Angus steers at $1740, while JM&DG Chambers, Birdwood, sold two Murray Grey steers at $1720 and another two at $1480.
Mark Harnath, Mount Crawford, sold a Murray Grey steer at $1700, plus bull calves at $1680, $1300 and two at $1140.
PA&FT Frahn, Mannum, sold two Murray Grey steers at $1480, a Murray Grey heifer at $1420 and another heifer at $1380.
Heifers sold to $1500 for a Murray Grey from Cromer Fields Farming, Linden Park, while D&M&C Schultz, Cambrai, also sold a Murray Grey heifer at $1320 and a Red Angus heifer at $1300.
Bill Gikes, Mannum, sold two Angus heifers at $1280, while CA Paech, Tepko, sold two red heifers at $1280.
PA&FT Frahn also sold two cows at the sale high of $1900, while SM Yates, Adelaide, received $1680 for a British White cow.
Cows with calves at-foot sold to $1880 for a Angus-cross unit from NH&LA Maczkowiack, Birdwood, while RE&RE Waechter, Kapunda, sold one Murray Grey unit with CAF at $1400.

Mr Fawcett said prices paid in the sheep section of the market "defied the odds", with quality lots on offer and a few extra buyers present.
Lambs sold to $224 for 11 from RD&CJ Lindner, Palmer, while HT Hein, Murray Bridge, also sold a lamb at $224.
"Those prices are certainly up there, " Mr Fawcett said.
"You wouldn't see a lot of lambs making that money at the moment anywhere.
"Mutton was a bit cheaper, but that's in line with other markets."
JW&JA Girdham, Mount Barker, sold five lambs at $210, a hogget at $156 and three sheep at $96.
T&D Mansfield, Mount Pleasant, sold 11 hoggets at $182 and 14 ewes at $166.
Maywald Vineyards, Nuriootpa, sold three wethers at $92, while Paech Bros, Palmer, sold three wethers at $80.
RL Scott, sold three sheep at $118, while Big Bend by Night, Swan Reach, sold four sheep at $104.
