Lamb prices were firm to $10 cheaper at Ouyen, Vic, on Thursday.

LAMB prices were firm to $10 cheaper at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange, Vic, on Thursday.

All up, 2623 head were offered, with mutton also $10-$20 cheaper.

N&F Hamilton, Timberoo, Vic, received the sale top price of $235 for 66 crossbred lambs, while J&P Heaslip, Ouyen, received $227 for their 18 head.

Overall, export lambs sold from $200 to the $235 top, or $5.50 a kilogram to $7.20/kg; while trade types made $172-$208 ($7-$8/kg).

G&P Burns, Tempy, Vic, sold 24 crossbred lambs at $226, while MUT, Tempy, sold 35 at $218.

J&A Frankle, Patchewollock, Vic, sold 50 crossbred lambs at $217; K,K&R Mowat, Manangatang, Vic, sold 43 at $208 and D&S Barry, Manangatang, sold 40 at $196.

Heavy Merinos sold from $178-$190 ($6-$7.20/kg), with J&R Scott, Timberoo, receiving the $190 top price for 62 Merino lambs.

N&R Monaghan, Tempy, sold 63 Merino lambs at $188, while A&J Stone, Underbool, Vic, sold 20 at $181.

Heavy mutton sold from $146-$157 ($4.80-$5.50/kg), with DM&L Traeger, Parilla, receiving the $157 top for 57 head, while light mutton made $83-$135 ($5-$5.50/kg).

Dorper lambs were also offered, with MGN Gibbins, Galah, Vic, receiving $195 for 48 head, while P&J Rundle, Lameroo, sold 49 at $191.
