LAMB prices were back on track at the Mount Pleasant market on Thursday last week, after a $190 top price was achieved.
The market offered 420 sheep and lambs, and 70 cattle.
Nutrien Ag Solutions Fawcett Livestock's Colin Fawcett, Mount Pleasant, said despite last month's market price ease because of mutton market uncertainty due to COVID-19, last Thursday, prices across the market held firm, particularly for lambs.
"The bulk of stock numbers are gone too but the market has regained some certainty in the past few weeks," he said.
"We had smaller numbers yarded because of the weather but it was very well-attended."
Mr Fawcett said increased buyer competition between Adelaide Hills butchers meant prices were slightly dearer in some sectors, as supply continued to tighten.
A pen of 25 crossbred lambs from PE&LAM Harrison, Springton, was the top price for the lamb sector and N Rothe, Murray Bridge, made $182 for three lambs.
G&P Noblet, Magill, made the same price for 25 lambs and Regari Pty Ltd, Tanunda, made $178 for 16 crossbred lambs.
The hogget section reached a top of $150 for three from D Millan, Monarto, and RA Brown, Onkaparinga, made $144 for two hoggets.
MJ Dunn, Brinkworth, and Y Haby, Mannum, each made $162 for one weather.
Ewes also had firm prices last week and reached a top of $140 for two from P&M Vanbalen, Mount Pleasant, and DC Wood, Gawler, made $134 for two ewes.
The cattle section reached a $1460 top price for one Poll Hereford steer from IS&SL Paech, Wynarka, and the same vendor made $1420 for another Poll Hereford steer.
AMP Farms Trust, Tungkillo, made $1380 for two Santa Gertrudis steers and PA&FT Frahn, Mannum, achieved $1360 for one Murray Grey steer.
One Angus heifer from Cromer Fields Farming, Linden Park, made the section's top price of $1440 and PA&FT Frahn, Mannum, made $1320 for their Murray Grey heifer.
Cows also made to $1460 for one Angus cow from G&P Noblet, Magill.
The next Mount Pleasant market will be held on May 14.
