Pork SA held its annual Pig Industry Day on Friday last week at Tanunda and offered attendees a plethora of industry speakers to present the latest updates.
Australian Pork Limited also unveiled its 2020-2025 draft strategic plan that promised to address market volatility and help strengthen SA's biosecurity.
The seminar program featured an African Swine Fever forum covering prevention, preparedness and response activities at the national, state and farm level; and practical sessions from APL's Rebecca Athorn on sow and gilt management.
Other speakers included Feedworks' Stuart Wilkinson, APL's technology transfer manager Rachael Bryant and multiple Sunpork researchers including Dannielle Glencorse and Kirsty Richards.
The industry day was supported by the SA Pig Industry Fund, Industry Partners, APL and SARDI.
