AN Eyre Peninsula harvest photo has won the top prize in a national photo competition.
Cungena-based farmer and hobby photographer Pam Lee's 'Reaping on Sunset' photograph was selected for the $1000 first prize from over 200 entries in the National Farmers' Federation and Harvest Agricultural Tyres' National AgDay Photo Competition.
In its third year, the competition attracted some of the best visual representations of what it means to be a farmer in Australia, honouring the theme #WeAreAusFarmers.
Mrs Lee has no formal training in photography and entered at the suggestion of a cousin in Darwin.
"I snapped this shot in the middle of our harvest program just after getting off the chaser bin for the day and it features my son Tom and his mate Smithy behind the wheel close to sundown," she said.
NFF president Fiona Simson said the AgDay Photo Competition was an important part of National AgDay celebrations.
"The entries in the photo competition perfectly match the theme of #WeAreAusFarmers," she said.
"People don't usually realise where the food on their plate is coming from, so to showcase and celebrate our Aussie farmers doing it tough is a fantastic initiative and one we hope even more Australians get behind in the future."
Ms Lee will receive a framed copy of her winning photograph at Crowders Tyre Service, Streaky Bay, next Wednesday.
