STOCK Journal is proud to be partnering with MGA Insurance Group, Neogen Genomic Solutions, International Animal health and Aussie Feeders to present Beef Week 2020.
Beef Week will get under way on Friday, February 7, in the Mid North, with day two being on Sunday, February 9 at Loxton and throughout the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula regions. The event then heads to the South East for days three and four, with Lower SE studs opening their gates on Monday, February 10 , before their Upper SE counterparts welcome visitors on Tuesday, February 11.
Once again, the event will feature an impressive 13 breeds from a combined total of 54 studs.
Making their Stock Journal Beef Week debut will be Gelbvieh Australia and J & S Charolais studs on day 2 in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula, along with Baynes Angus and Brentvale Limousin on day four in the Upper SE.
Mandayen Angus and Limousin will display on day three in the Lower SE as well as at their normal location on day four in the Upper SE, giving commercial producers an opportunity to view a selection of sale bulls at their Lower SE venue if they are unable to get away for two days' viewing.
SA is a very proud seedstock state and SA genetics are having an influence on herds throughout the country.
Although a lot of the country is experiencing extremely challenging seasonal conditions, cattle prices remain very favourable for well-bred stock in good condition.
Stock Journal Beef Week gives stud breeders an opportunity to showcase their breeding and sale stock and welcome visitors to their properties.
From a visitor perspective, the event provides a chance to view potential sale stock, particularly sale bulls, for upcoming auctions in a low-stress environment, helping them make their investment selections for their breeding programs.
I would encourage commercial beef producers and enthusiasts to attend as many participating studs as possible.
It is worthwhile taking the opportunity to inspect other breeds and appreciate the quality on display.
