SPORTING clubs affected by the recent devastating bushfires will have a helping hand to get back on their feet, with the state government offering grants of up to $10,000 per club.
The payments can be accessed immediately and can be used for a range of initiatives such as drawing up plans or replacing damaged equipment.
Recreation, Sport and Racing Minister Corey Wingard said the grants would help kickstart the recovery process for organisations faced with the daunting task of cleaning up and rebuilding.

"These fires have been devastating for so many communities with lives, homes and livestock tragically lost," Mr Wingard said.
"Community facilities have also been affected with damage feared at up to 20 sporting clubs following both the Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island fires.
"We know both the Stokes Bay Community Hall and tennis courts and the Western Memorial Community and Sports Centre on KI have been destroyed.
"There is also a very strong possibility other clubs in the affected areas of both KI and Cudlee Creek have suffered significant smoke damage.

"As a government we want to do everything we can to support these communities to help with the rebuilding process.
"It will take time but we are committed to ensuring the process is as smooth and pain-free as possible and we are focused on making sure these sporting clubs can get back on their feet and continue to serve their broader communities."
