A broad acre and livestock holding comprising approximately 8820 contiguous arable hectares amongst multiple vendors on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia is for sale with a price in excess of $13.2 million.
The holding is being offered to the market by way of expression of interest with a closing date of January 31, unless sold prior.
Elders Rural property executive, Adam Chilcott expects corporate and large cropping operators to consider the aggregation.
"The opportunity to acquire broad acre cropping land for around $600 per acre doesn't exist in too many parts of Australia any longer," Mr Chilcott said.
"Given the last 10-year average yields across the holding, it represents excellent value when you can capitalise on the good seasons and ensure crop potential is maximised in more challenging times.
"One of the vendors was attracted to the region from the mid-north of SA over a decade ago and genuinely made the comment that they should have moved to the upper Eyre peninsula much sooner than they did.
"Their circumstances now require a downsizing and move south on the peninsula."
The expression of interest campaign is open to the inclusion of farm management and oversight of operations and plant and equipment, in addition to the land and fixed structures, should it be required by a new purchaser.
There are many structural improvements and housing options across the holding and access to a private water scheme, primarily used for livestock.
The aggregation involves four vendors all with similar pricing expectations and they have joined their assets together on the back of a recent campaign.
For the vendors, it was a situation where they determined that the combination of their assets was better offered to the market as a whole rather than individually.
"It really sums up the community on the Eyre Peninsula where neighbours are able to work together, even during a sale process involving generational farming families and succession plans," Mr Chilcott said.
