Yarding: 194 cattle, 1855 sheep and lambs
Steers to $1680
Heifers to $1480
Cows to $1760
Lambs to $178
AN EXCELLENT turnout of buyers at the Mount Pleasant market on Thursday last week were met with a good quality offering in both the sheep and cattle yardings.
Landmark Fawcett Mount Pleasant principal Colin Fawcett said it was a "strong" market, with "good numbers and good prices".
"The quality of cattle was very good again, and it was surprising how fresh some of the lambs were," he said.
The yarding was up from 607 sheep and 136 cattle at the previous Mount Pleasant market and Mr Fawcett said cows with calves-at-foot were in particularly strong demand.
"There were a number of people looking for them and they sold pretty well," he said.
