PRICES jumped at the annual Senior Park on-property sale near Bordertown, with young ewes reaching $272.
This was up $12 on last year's price, with the auction following on from the Bordertown off-shears in a circuit sale.
A line of 476 April/May, 2018-drop September-shorn, Senior Park ewes reached that price, bought by a Pinkerton, Palm, Hamlyn and Steen, Naracoorte, account.
The same vendors also bought the second run of 125 young ewes at $188.
In the 2014-drop ewes, 500 were bought by Elders Keith, account Hedges, at $188, with a further 113 sold at $180 to Elders Bordertown, account Richards.

In the wether offering, the April/May-drops sold at $169 - up $20 on last year - to repeat buyer Damian O'Brien, Yambuk, Vic, through Rodwells, Warrnambool, Vic.
Another run of 398 wethers were bought by Fletcher International Exports, Dubbo, NSW.
All up, 600 young ewes, 870 5.5-year-old ewes and 1706 wether lambs sold.
Senior Park principal Nathan Daniel said he was "very happy" with the results.
"The wether lambs sold really strong, and the ewes got what we expected," he said.
Spence, Dix & Co's Kym Lovelock, Bordertown, said the sale was "exceptionally strong" with a good quality of sheep displayed and strong buyer support.
