TEXEL rams sold to $1000 at the Illawong stud sale at Parawa on Thursday last week.
Overall, 16 paddock-run rams sold from 24 offered, averaging $859.
Illawong stud principal Charlotte Morley was pleased with the Texel sale, with a few sold afterwards.
The top price ram went to repeat clients The Tiers, Tunkalilla, who bought four rams in total, averaging $888.
The top ram was a home-bred sire and had Stockscan figures of 76 millimetres eye muscle width and 34mm eye muscle depth.
Return clients WS&CB Whittall, Nairne, bought two rams at the sale's second-highest price of $950, as did Bowles Nominees, Mount Compass, with one and another at $800.

Newenham, Normanville, also bought in bulk with four rams to $900, averaging $838, while SJ Baum, Victor Harbor, bought three rams at $800.
New client AC Holley, Strathalbyn, bought the one Texel at $800.
Twenty Poll Dorset rams were also offered, with five selling at $800.
Three were bought by Jaekar Rural, Parawa, and singles to The Tiers and K&K Moyse, Second Valley.
The sale was conducted by Elders with Tom Penna the auctioneer.
