ILUKA Estate, Beachport, was a new client at the Corriedale Hills Corriedale and Poll Dorset annual on-property sale at Inman Valley on Tuesday last week, but certainly made its presence known, securing 18 rams in the Corriedale line-up.
Forty Corriedale rams were offered in a helmsman sale, of which 26 sold, topping at $1200 and averaging $673, slightly up on last year's average.
Corriedale Hills stud principals Brenton and Jo Lush offered 17 Corriedales, which topped at $1200 and averaged $671, while Y-Not Corriedales, owned by Lush children Nathan, Isaac and Zoe, sold one of two rams offered, at $700.
Also contributing to the Corriedale line-up was Royce Pitchford, Lushford Corriedales, Echunga, who sold four of five rams to $700, averaging $650. Five rams were also offered by Graham and Di Jenke, Wattle Glen Corriedales, Strathalbyn, which sold to $800, averaging $700.
The top Corriedale, lot 41, was secured by Noorla, Mount Gambier, and featured Lambplan figures of 2.9 for post-weaning weight, -0.6 for Pfat, and 0.8 for PW eye muscle depth.

In the Poll Dorset auction, 40 rams were offered, of which 21 sold to $1000, averaging $707.
The top Poll Dorset price was achieved by lot 11, a June 2018-drop ram with an EMD of 37 millimetres and 3.5mm fat depth, both measured at seven months. It was sired by North Ulandi 16-062, which is a new bloodline for Corriedale Hills.
"We keep bringing in new rams, to keep trying to improve what we're offering," Mr Lush said.
The top Poll Dorset was secured by new client Jaekar Rural, Yankalilla, who took home one other ram at $850.
The sale was conducted by Landmark, with Richard Snoswell as auctioneer.
He said the rams were "very good value".
