STRAIGHT off the back of a successful Royal Adelaide Show, the North Ashrose stud has cleared all 160 rams at its on-property sale at Gulnare yesterday.
A strong contingent of loyal clients pushed prices to $8200 and ensured a total clearance of Merino and Poll Merinos, March-shorns and May-shorns, averaging $2283.
The 140 Poll Merinos offered averaged $2204, while 20 Merinos averaged $2835.
There was also 220 ewes offered, with all selling to $314 and averaging $246.
Eyre Peninsula clients CR Low & Son, White Flat, bought the $8200 top price ram in a sole purchase, after paying $16,000 for another ram at the recent Adelaide Show sale.
The $8200 ram at lot 16 was a 17.9 micron Poll Merino March-shorn son of North Ashrose Regal, weighing 126 kilograms and measuring 2.7 standard deviation, 12.2 coefficient of variation, 100 per cent comfort factor and 128 greasy fleece weight.
The second-highest price ram at $6000 was bought by another sole purchaser, Hermit Hill, Kerang and Elmore, Vic, which also bought a ram at the recent Adelaide Show sale at $15,000.
This Poll Merino March-shorn at lot 13 was a son of PG196, also weighing 110kg and measuring 3.4SD, 17.8CV, 98.7CF and a whopping 145.1GFW.
Hermit Hill also bought ewes, 30 2018-drops at $310 and 25 2015-drops at $205.

There has also a handful buying in big, with Qld repeat client JH&RG Banks, Springleigh, Blackall, taking home 28 rams, a mix of Merinos and Poll Merinos from across the catalogue, to $2600, averaging $1761.
Long-time client WH Lines & Co, Wilmington, was strong in the top half of the catalogue, buying 20 rams to $3200, averaging $2980, while Minburra Pastoral, Orroroo, also bought 20 rams to $1500, averaging $1355.
Thurloo Downs, Wanaaring, NSW, bought 17 rams all at $1200, while Baratta Pastoral, Jamestown, bought nine rams to $1500, averaging $1444.
Two export orders will also see 13 rams headed to central Chile - a relationship Mr Ashby said had developed over the past decade.
Technovis Agriculture bought four, all March-shorn Poll Merinos to $5200 - the third-highest price ram - averaging $4300, while Elite Merino Co also bought in the top half of the catalogue, taking home 10 to $3200, averaging $2520.
Elders and Landmark conducted the sale.
