STUDENTS aged between 12 years to 15 years old are being encouraged to apply for the YMCA SA Junior Parliament.
Junior Parliament will run in the October school holidays and provides young people with the chance to learn about how parliament operates, as well as meet new friends.
Member for Stuart Dan van Holst Pellekaan said the apolitical program gave students the chance to learn about democracy, parliament, team building, public speaking and leadership.
"Junior Parliament gives young people the opportunity to have their say on issues they care about and it would be wonderful to have participants from the electorate of Stuart take part," he said.
The program involves a three-day and two-night camp and it is open to anyone in SA, aged 12-15.
It will be held from October 2-4, which includes a day in Parliament House debating the Bills the Junior Parliamentarians have written.
Application close September 20 with application forms available at www.sa.ymca.org.au/JP
