The champion dairy cattle of the Royal Adelaide Show have been sashed.

Above is a gallery of each of the celebrated dairy champions at the show this year.

It was an all-family affair in the interbreed judging of the dairy cattle at the Royal Adelaide Show, with the Tweddle family, Glencoe, claiming four of the broadribbons, and having an involvement in a fifth.

In the Guernsey feature breed it was a case of the like mother, like daughter when Lyndon and Joyce Cleggett's Brookleigh Jocelyn claimed the senior and supreme champion ribbons.

Holstein judge Lisa McKay, Irrewillipe, Vic, said years spent milking cows had honed her tastes when judging, and she was looking for functional cows that "last the test of time". This search ended with a senior champion win for the "super dairy" five-year-old Benlargo Sid Furry, shown by Benlargo Holsteins, Glencoe.

Meanwhile, a cow that hit the right "show form" at the right time has appealed to judge Todd Wilson, Tamworth, NSW, and claimed the tricolour ribbon for senior champion Jersey cow.

In the Ayrshire judging a late decision and 20-hour round trip has paid off for first-time Royal Adelaide Show entrant Karl Munden, Munden Farm Ayrshires, Warragul, Vic.

And it was all but a clean sweep of the broadribbons for Glenbrook, Murray Bridge, in the Illawarra judging.

The family of Ian, Julie, Trent and Emily Mueller showed the juvenile, intermediate, senior and reserve senior cows during the morning's judging, and also won most successful Illawarra exhibitors.
