A bull that "means business" has taken out the grand champion title in the Square Meater judging under Qld-based judge Paul Forman, Oakwood Limosins, Bundaberg.
Two-and-a-half year old, Willows Rest Charger, exhibited by Kyla Palk, Willows Rest, Eden Valley, was commended by Mr Forman for its maturity and "chunkiness".
It was sired by Meta Park Luther and out of WR Persephone.
Mr forman said its muscle was appealing but Willows Rest Charger still showed softness.
"Its got a lot of presence and power - that bull just catches your eye," he said.
"Its a very economic animal and its chunkiness means it will add muscle to a herd - he's a powerhouse and means business."
Ms Palk said the grand champion was yet to be utilised in the stud.
"He will be used in the next month and we are expecting him to produce thick and docile calves," she said.
The grand champion female title was won by senior champion Willows Rest Montana.
The two-year-old was sired by W.R Adonis WR1F1, its dam, Thurloo Park Hann, was crowned grand champion two years ago at the Royal Adelaide Show.
Mr Forman said it had good capacity for a younger cow.
"She is functional and has a length of body that is just so appealing - this cow will continue to grow in itself in the next few years," he said.
"She has great softenss and thickness and growth for her age."
The junior champion bull title was won by Ms Palk's Willows Rest Ferdinand, that was sired by Meta Park Luther and out of Calamity Jane.
Willows Rest Pandora was sashed junior champion female.
Mr Forman said he was pleased to judge a quality variety of animals.
