PRICES held firm at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange sheep market in Vic yesterday, where 5238 were offered.
Sucker demand was strong, making from $194 to $230 or $8.20 a kilogram to $8.50/kg.
Downdale Pastoral, Speed, sold 75 crossbred lambs at the top of $230, while M Pohlner, Kiamal, received $228 for 28 and RM&RJC White, Coomondook, sold 44 at $225.
Hulland Holdings, Patchewollock, sold 82 crossbred lambs at $217 and another pen of 92 at $208.
Older crossbred lambs were also offered, with export types making $160-$242 or $7.60-$8.40/kg; trade types were $125-$225 or $7.60-$8.80/kg; and store lambs sold from $90-$143 or $7.80-$8/kg.
C&R Lockett, Linga, received the $242 top for 53 older lambs, while W Schultz, Mittyack, sold 32 at $240.
SONWIL, Werrimull, sold 56 older crossbred lambs at $238, while I&B Brown, Underbool, sold 80 at $236.

Heavy Merinos sold from $150-$214 or $7.20-$8.40/kg, while light Merinos made $73-$125 or $7-$7.90/kg.
J Tonkin, Caliph, sold 42 Merinos at $199, and a second pen of 61 at $190.
Mutton prices also held firm, with heavies selling from $167-$194 or $5.60- $6.60/kg, and lighter lots making $58-$147 or $5.90-$6.40/kg.
D Stone, Underbool, sold 20 mutton at $218.
Avoca Station, Pomona, sold 24 Dorper lambs at $179.
