ABOUT 80 livestock producers, consultants and industry stakeholders gathered at Glenelg today for an SA Livestock Consultants update.
Supported by Meat & Livestock Australia and Australian Wool Innovation, the event featured keynote and concurrent sessions on topics such as reproduction, genetics, farm management, technology, disease, marketing, and R&D, while there was also a range of technical displays.
Among the list of many guest speakers, Verity Suttor from Integrity Systems Company, talked about how MLA was working towards connecting data across the supply chain, while Hamish Dickson, a principal consultant at AgriPartner Consulting, gave a presentation on the potential uses of eID in commercial sheep flocks.
Regenerative Australian Farmers director Deane Belfield discussed the basic principles of regenerative agriculture and monetising the practice, while Dr Torben Dahl Nielsen, a senior veterinary Public Health at the University of Adelaide, covered the enhanced abattoir surveillance project and how it was impacting livestock producers in SA.
