September 1983 was a time of novel ideas for SA agriculture, with a newly designed three legged windmill tower, a soil sampler, and a RAM touch-sensitive switch for shearing handpieces all featured in the pages of Stock Journal during the month. A handyman innovation competition at the Orroroo show also attracted many impressive entries.
