Third generation woolgrowers John and Glenda Kidman, Penola have taken out the Elders SA Supreme Clip of the Year for 2018-19 with their Dungarven clip.
The 138-bale clip sold in March was recognised from more than 90,000 bales sold by 1150 of Elders' clients in the last financial year.
Their clip scored 91.5 points out of a possible 100 for fleece quality such as style and bloom, coefficient of variation, evenness of length and staple strength, as well as clip preparation and classer specifications.
Elders southern wool sales manager Lachie Brown said the supreme clip stood out on the showfloor attracting the buyers attention visually and was backed up by good sale results to seven buyers.
The classer was Kylie Anne Craig,Lucindale.
Mr Kidman said he enjoyed the challenge of breeding high yielding, white wool in their 650mm rainfall area and was thrilled to be recognised for his passion of the past 50 years.
