Crossbred lambs to $320
Merino lambs to $232
PRICES for sheep and lambs remained firm on the previous sale at the Ouyen Livestock Exchange on Thursday last week.
The $320 sale top price for crossbred lambs went to 42 head from T&S Monaghan, Tempy, who also sold another 47 at $313.
The top price is the saleyard record, which was also reached at Ouyen a fortnight ago.
Next highest price went to N Hamilton, Ouyen, for 65 crossbred lambs at $310.
Overall, export crossbred lambs sold from $196-$320 or $8-$9.40/kg; trade types were $150-$261 or $8.80-$9.75/kg; while store/light lambs made $120-$158 or $8.90-$9.80/kg.
Merino lambs sold to $232 for 24 head from J Hahnel Nominees, Timberoo, while N&R Monaghan, Tempy, sold 34 at $228.
Heavy Merinos made $194-$212 or $8.40-$8.60/kg, while lighter types sold from $105-$174 or $8.60-$9/kg.
Jackmann Farming, Loxton, sold the top mutton - 158 head at $230, while G Crane, Murrayville, sold 46 at $175.
Heavy mutton sold from $145-$230 or $5.80-$6/kg, while light mutton made $88-$148 or $6-$6.30/kg.
