Dairy Australia is calling for nominations to fill three vacancies on its board of directors ahead of its November election, as part of its annual general meeting.
Three serving directors' board terms are expiring this year. Chair Jeff Odgers and Paul Wood have indicated they will re-stand for election while Jan West will retire from the board.
In line with DA's constitution, one of the vacant positions must be filled by a milk producer, with the other vacancies requiring a director with skills in agribusiness, innovation and adoption and one with extensive experience in finance, auditing and risk management.
Board selection committee chair David Lord has sent letters to all levy payers, informing them of the call for nominees.
"With the industry going through particularly tough times, there has never been a more important time to get involved and we are looking for new leaders from right across the supply chain, to take up critical roles in helping dairy meet the challenges we are facing," he said.
Milk producers interested in standing should apply to the Board Selection Committee before 5pm, July 1.
Rimfire Resources is managing applications for the non-milk producer director roles, to be advertised publicly.
