Key stakeholders, communities and individuals across the state will have the opportunity to help shape the future of rural areas, with community forums announced inviting public input into developing SA's Regional Development Strategy.
Primary Industries Minister Tim Whetstone said the strategy would aim to plan for future investment, support and priorities across the state.
"We recognise that SA's regions and the communities that live and work in them are crucial for the future prosperity of our state as a whole," Mr Whetstone said.
"We believe this is a necessary step to ensure regional South Australia maintains and grows its economic capability and supports people in their decision to live in regional areas."
The forums will kick off in Murray Bridge on Wednesday, June 12, and wrap up in Whyalla on Thursday, July 25.
All sessions will run from 10:30am-12:30pm.
Members of the public can also have their opinion heard by completing an online survey.
Opportunity to provide input closes at 5pm on Friday, July 26.
All contributions will be considered against key questions included in a discussion paper which has been developed to help form the strategy.
An independent Community Advisory Panel has been appointed to assist with developing the strategy, including Outback Communities Authority director Mark Sutton, SA Economic Advisory Council member Bill Spurr, Royal Flying Doctor Service Central Operations chief executive Tony Vaughan, Tumby Bay District Council Mayor Sam Telfer, Rod Hook & Associates principal Maree Wauchope, and Infrastructure SA interim chief executive Jeremy Conway.
