WITH the Eyre Peninsula rail network set to close at the end of this month, SA Police will be hosting two community forums to discuss road safety and heavy vehicles in the region.
Eyre and Western Local Service Area's Superintendent Paul Bahr, said police were hosting two public meetings later this month.
"These police and community engagement forums will focus on providing advice and information to all road users, including heavy vehicle operators, on their obligations, responsibilities and the law," he said.
"We are aware the closure of Genesse and Wyoming Australia's train in the Lower EP has created a heightened level of concern within the community.

"The train, which has traditionally collected grain from across the EP, ceases operation at the end of the month.
"As this rail service has transported a significant amount of grain from regional silos in the area to the terminal at Port Lincoln for sea transport, there is expected to be an increase in heavy vehicle movements in the region.
"These forums will be about ensuring all road users understand their responsibilities and the need to drive with care."
Superintendant Bahr said police would also be working with the heavy vehicle industry to ensure their safety.
"I would like to invite all community members to attend these important meetings and talk directly with the police managers in your local area," he said.
In addition to the physical meetings, SA Police will also provide an online forum at the same time as the Port Lincoln meeting.
This engagement in the digital space will be facilitated via Facebook in the same way as other regularly online PACE Forums hosted by SA Police.
To participate in the online forum, interested parties will simply need to have an active Facebook account and go to the Police Facebook site 'South Australia Police' at 7pm on Monday, May 27.
Interested Facebook users will then be able to ask questions via the comments section on a livestream video posted on the night.
The community forums will be held on Monday, May 27 at the Port Lincoln RSL Hall from 7pm, and Tuesday, May 28, at Cummins Bowling Club from 7pm.
